All CIS member states demonstrate sustained economic growth, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said during a meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council in Dushanbe on 5 June, BelTA has learned.
"The CIS countries have experienced economic growth and demonstrated GDP growth above the global average for the second straight year. This trend clearly shows the tangible benefits that each member state gains from economic integration within the CIS. However, we should not rest on our oars. We cannot ignore global market volatility caused by various factors," Aleksandr Turchin stressed.
The prime minister outlined key priorities for economic cooperation to develop the CIS. "The use of free trade mechanisms for goods and services and the removal of trade barriers will allow us to reach a new level of trade and economic relations within the CIS. We must actively engage the high-level working group to analyze complaints and eliminate obstacles to mutual trade among CIS countries. The implementation of the free trade agreement for services across all signatory states is also crucial," he emphasized.
