Radio "Belarus" became an information partner of the unique environmental project "Walking Beetles." The Zhukov family from Vitebsk embarked on a grand walking tour to visit 28 countries in 888 days!
On April 1 the "Walking Beetles" lifted off from Minsk to the capital of Japan, Tokyo, their very first destination. Correspondents of Radio Belarus International saw the travelers off at Minsk National Airport and presented them with a special amulet, Kupalinka, which is sure to bring the family good luck! In turn, the Zhukovs promised that the flag with Radio Belarus International's logo will be with them in all the countries they are going to visit, said head of the department of news, socio-political and socio-economic programs of Radio Belarus International Pavel Lazovik. The tour is to complete on August 24, 2018 at the famous Bosphorus bridge linking the European and Asian parts of Istanbul.
The aim of the project is to facilitate free communication with people of different nationalities, cultures and religions, exchange of experience in the field of environment, health, innovative technologies. Alexander and Elena will also be blogging and will share exclusive photos. And thanks to the audio diaries broadcast by the international radio all of the listeners will be able to visit interesting and unexplored places and follow the observations of the travelers.

I recently learned my surname is not Polish, but Belarusian. I heard you on shortwave in the past and am so happy to listen online in English.
