Belarus plans to open honorary consulates in Malaga and Barcelona, BelTA quotes the Embassy of Belarus in Spain after the meeting in Madrid of Ambassador Paval Latushka with the Director General for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain Juan Lopez Herrera.
During the meeting, the main emphasis was put on the first meeting of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Spanish commission on economic and industrial cooperation scheduled for October 18 in Minsk. Further meetings at the level of the leadership of the Foreign Ministry of the two countries were considered. The parties confirmed their interest in holding consultations in 2018 between the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Spain on consular matters.
The results of the recent visit to Madrid of the Belarusian delegation led by the Director of the Department of Entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Economy Petr Arushanyants were discussed. Also, the parties considerred the prospect of concluding bilateral agreements between Belarus and Spain on cooperation in the spheres of tourism and justice. The Ambassador of Belarus mentioned the planned joint Belarusian-Spanish projects in the field of culture.
In general, Paval Latushka and Juan Lopez Herrera stressed the significant activation of the Belarusian-Spanish cooperation.
