Lukashenko highlights importance of preserving identity, culture, traditions

In the age of global changes, it is imperative to preserve our identity, culture and traditions, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a ceremony to open the 34th International Art Festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk on 10 July, BelTA Learned.

“We are living in an age of dramatic change. Probably the biggest in human history. What the world will be like tomorrow is open to question. And that's the biggest problem. But we know for sure that in this whirlpool it is important to preserve the identity, culture, and traditions. It is important for all countries and peoples,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

According to the head of state, this is the point of diversity and politics. “It is you, talented people, who are at the origins of every economy and political event. This is the essence of creation, the path to a just, secure future for all of us. I say this here because talented performers from different countries meet at the Summer Amphitheatre annually. Every year there is an atmosphere of friendship and respect. This is the essence of our entire policy,” the president noted.
