The Beldan company invested Br62 million in the enterprise to produce pork for making bacon. The agricultural enterprise located in Tolochin District solemnly opened on 17 August as Tolochin marks its 585th anniversary, BelTA reported.
Taking part in the opening ceremony were Vitebsk region Governor Nikolai Sherstnev, local authorities and the labor collective. Director for Development at Beldan Nikolai Govorko informed that the construction of the agricultural enterprise started in October 2015; the industrial process was launched in November 2016. The commissioning was structured into four phases.
In order to produce premium-class pork for making bacon, the enterprise uses pure pig breeds (the Danish landrace, Yorkshire, Duroc) that are brought from Denmark once in a year to avoid rebreeding. About 100 animals are brought to Belarus annually. Pigs receive only vegetable feedstuffs, like grain, soy, vegetable oils, premixes and minerals. “It is the purity of feed and the genetic line that enable us to produce premium-quality Danish pork for making bacon,” Nikolai Govorko said.
