Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, and Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, signed a joint communique at the end of her official visit to Minsk. This was the final event in the program of the visit of the distinguished guest to Belarus.
Earlier, Vladimir Makei and Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah discussed the development of the relations between Belarus and Namibia. The parties discussed in detail the current state and development prospects of the bilateral relations in politics, trade, economy, and humanitarian affairs and exchanged opinions on the most pressing issues on the international agenda. Vladimir Makei emphasized Belarus’ eagerness to develop fruitful cooperation with Namibia.
The joint communique summed up the results of the Minsk talks. “Among other things, we agreed to step up cooperation in the economy, particularly, in the mining industry, agriculture, investments, the high-tech sector, education, and tourism. We also agreed to do our best to promote the contacts between the business circles of the two countries, between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries,”  Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah said. Vladimir Makei, in turn, said that the signed communique was a final and very positive event in the program of the official visit of the Namibian delegation:

      (record)

We would like to express our gratitude for your accepting the invitation and finding the opportunity to pay a visit to Belarus after a number of setbacks that were due to objective reasons.
By signing this joint communique we finalize this visit on a very positive note. This will be of benefit to both Belarus and Namibia, and I believe that already very shortly the Belarusian side will take concrete steps for the enhancement of interaction with Namibia.
