Belarus reaffirms commitment to transparent, fair parliamentary elections

        Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Shestakov met with Vice President of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, OSCE Special Coordinator for the parliamentary elections in Belarus Kent Harstedt in Minsk, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported. The parties discussed a number of issues related to the electoral campaign which is underway in Belarus and the organization of its monitoring, including by representatives of international parliamentary structures. “The Belarusian side confirmed its commitment to conducting transparent and fair elections in compliance with the national legislation and the country’s international commitments, and stressed its readiness to create all conditions necessary for the work of international observers,” the press service added.
