There is a need to make realistic assessment of the reasons of the crises in the region, Belarus’ Permanent Representative to the OSCE Valery Voronetsky said when speaking at the 2016 OSCE Annual Security Review Conference held in Vienna, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus reported.
At the opening session Valery Voronetsky focused on the crisis of confidence and the differences in the approaches to security which transformed into the build-up of military capabilities, growth of military and political tensions amid the ongoing erosion of the mechanisms on arms control and confidence- and security-building measures. The Belarusian diplomat also noted that the unilateral deployment of the missile defense system in Europe undermines the principle of the indivisibility of security.
