Automobile sales by Russian GAZ Group in Belarus in 2012 will double in comparison with 2011, Mikhail Suprunovich, Director General of the management company of the holding company BelGAZavtoservis, told media.
Mikhail Suprunovich said that in January-October 2012 as many as 2,046 automobiles were sold. The sales are expected to continue till the end of the year, empowering the company to exceed this year’s sales target, which stands at 2,100 automobiles. Sales of spare parts for Russian automobiles have also doubled.
The Russian company believes that the Belarusian market of light, low-tonnage and medium-duty automobiles is a promising and growing one, said Oleg Markov, Director for Sales and Marketing of the Russian company OOO Commercial Vehicles – GAZ Group. This is why the company plans to diversify its products regarding the full weight of trucks and passenger capacity. Belarusian partners, who manufacture special vehicles, will be actively involved in this work.
Belarus occupies the third position in GAZ Group’s list of destinations, buying 20% of the company’s export for the CIS states. Belarus will be one of the first countries to get the new family of automobiles Gazel Next in a higher price segment.
