Olivaria Brewery will produce the German brand Holsten, Mr Mikhail Chechnev, the director for business development and marketing at Olivaria, told reporters. The company got the right to produce the beer to the German recipe and to sell it. The contract is not limited in time.
According to Deputy General Director Nadezhda Beshkovets, the beer brands from the Czech Republic, Germany and other countries that have rich brewing traditions are increasing their share on the market. According to the international research company ASNielsen, they now hold about 7% of the total beer market.
The share of the new product in the Belarusian beer market, according to Olivaria, may amount to about 1%. Holsten will be sold in glass bottles, cans and kegs. Olivaria Brewery was founded in 1864, the controlling stake is owned by Carlsberg-Group. The company produces 16 beers under the brands Alivaria and Brovar, and is the exclusive exporter of three EVE beers.
