Belarus, Myanmar to enhance cooperation in 2025

Belarus and Myanmar agreed to intensify cooperation in 2025 following the Belarus-Myanmar Business Forum in Yangon, the economic capital of the country, Deputy Chairwoman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI) Yelena Malinovskaya told the media during a press conference at the Minsk International Exhibition Center, BelTA has learned.

The forum was quite successful, noted Yelena Malinovskaya. “Belarusian enterprises presented the export potential of the country. Myanmar showed great interest primarily in pharmaceutics, agricultural technologies and education. We see good prospects. Myanmar is a country of 55 million people. There are many opportunities for some Belarusian products to succeed in the Myanmar market,” she said.

The countries have already reached a number of agreements. “The first delegations from Myanmar will visit us in early February. We have agreed that we will be working quite actively this year,” Yelena Malinovskaya stated.

Myanmar offered Belarus to work on the matter of rice supply. “We are interested in that. Rice is a very important imported commodity for us. We are also interested in importing tea and coffee,” she pointed out.
