Afontsev: Belarus’ accession to WTO is priority for EAEU

Belarus’ accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO) is a priority for the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), media learned from Sergei Afontsev, Deputy Director of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Sergei Afontsev is in Minsk for the Minsk Dialogue Forum. He noted that the EAEU and the EU can pool efforts in a lot of areas to help Eastern European countries become more independent to participate in the global economy. “Belarus’ accession to the WTO has become a priority for the Eurasian Economic Union. This step would make cooperation between companies of the EU and Belarus easier,” Sergei Afontsev said.
