An event timed to the Mother Language Day and the 25th anniversary of the Belarusian Constitution will take place in the National Library on 21 February, Anatoly Glaz, Head of the Information and Digital Diplomacy Office, Press Secretary of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the media.
Invitations to take part in the event were sent to diplomats accredited in Belarus, members of the Commission of the Republic of Belarus for UNESCO and the commission’s chairman, Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei. “This theme was chosen for a reason. In fact, a language is a distinctive feature of a nation, an important element of national identity and a solid foundation of statehood,” Anatoly Glaz said.
The participants of the event will read out excerpts from constitutions of their countries in their native tongue. After that, they will be invited to study the exposition Manifest of the Republic timed to the 100th anniversary of the BSSR.
