Sudan opens embassy in Minsk

Sudan is interested in expanding economic cooperation with Belarus, Sudan President Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir said at a ceremony to open the Sudanese Embassy in Minsk.

Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir said that the opening of the Sudanese diplomatic mission is the final item on the program of his visit to Belarus. The Embassy was opened in accordance with the Belarusian-Sudanese agreements reached during the visit of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Sudan. 

With the opening of the embassy in Minsk the relations between the two states will raise to a new level, the Sudanese head of state believes. He highlighted the importance of political stability and good economic development in Belarus. “Our mutual desire to develop joint projects is a good foundation for bilateral cooperation,” the Sudanese president said.
