MPs of Belarus and France intend to strengthen cooperation, including at the level of working groups, to promote economic ties and investment cooperation between the two countries, BelTA quotes the press service of the Council of the Republic. Steps to expand bilateral interparliamentary ties are being worked out in the light of the agreements reached during the visit of Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mikhail Myasnikovich to Paris in November.

When in Paris Mikhail Myasnikovich held talks with French Senate President Gerard Larcher. “The parties agreed to deepen interparliamentary partnership, to promote economic ties and investment cooperation between the two countries. These and other matters were high on the agenda of the meetings between Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko and Hubert De Canson, Diplomatic Adviser to the President of the Senate of France, and Vincent Eble, Chair of the Committee on Finance of the Senate of France, which were held in November and December respectively.

The parties are considering a possibility to organize an official visit of the working group of the Senate of France led by Vice President Charles Guene to Belarus in 2019. He also heads the parliamentary group of friendship with Belarus, the press service added.
