Belarus-Egypt program on cooperation in higher education drawn up

 

     The Belarusian Education Ministry has drafted a program to cooperate with Egypt in higher education, Education Minister Igor Karpenko noted as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Egypt to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Ihab Tallat Nasr, BelTA quotes the Belarusian Education Ministry. The Belarus president’s recent visit to Arab countries has created a new environment to expand friendly and business contacts, including those in education, Igor Karpenko said. “As a follow-up to the political and economic agreements reached at the highest level, we have been making every effort to develop our relations in education faster and bring them to a new level,” he added. In turn, the Egyptian ambassador emphasized both sides’ interest in stepping up cooperation in education. He drew attention to the growing number of agreements between the universities, the expansion of postgraduate education programs, the exchange between students and faculty staff. According to the diplomat, Egypt is interested in developing joint research.
