President: Need to enhance the role and expand the areas of cooperation of the UNECE

       There is a need to enhance the role and expand the areas of cooperation of the UNECE, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he met with Mr Christian Friis Bach, Under Secretary-General of the United Nations, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, BelTA reported. The Belarus President stated that there is a need to ensure safe life on the planet. “This applies to the life of the man who depends on the economy and also the air he breathes, on the environment. For me personally, it is an absolute priority,” he stressed. Belarus is ready to share its experience in environmental activities, including during the conference of the parties to the UNECE Convention on Environmental Impact Assessment in a Transboundary Context due in Minsk in 2017.
