CIS observer praises high youth turnout in parliamentary elections in Belarus

 

       Young people are as active voters as senior citizens, Beibut Ismanov, an observer with the CIS mission, a representative of Kazakhstan. Beibut Ismanov monitors the voting at a polling station in Grodno-Tsentralny constituency No. 51. “We have been working at the polling station since the morning. The electoral process is organized properly and, what is important, at a high level. The turnout is good. Of course, in the morning those were mainly seniors but youth is as active,” Beibut Ismanov noted. He said that this is the first time he monitors the elections in Belarus but that he previously participated as an observer in the election campaigns in the Russian Federation and other countries. “We pay attention to the organization of the electoral process, the compliance with the law. The elections are held without violations, Beibut Ismanov emphasized.
