Belarus’ economic opportunities presented in Aachen, Germany

        A presentation of the opportunities and prospects for the development of trade and economic cooperation with Belarus took place in Aachen (North Rhine-Westphalia, West Germany) for the business community of the region. The event organized by the local Chamber of Commerce was attended by representatives of 15 German companies interested in developing business ties with Belarus, including those who already have experience of cooperation with Belarusian partners. The presentation of economic and export potential of Belarus was made by head of the Bonn Office of the Belarusian Embassy in Germany Viktor Alexandrov. The Belarusian diplomat briefed the audience on the status and development trends in the Belarusian economy, bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, and also the efforts of the government to create a favorable business and investment environment. Particular attention was paid to the conditions and possibilities for industrial cooperation with Belarusian partners, taking into account Belarus’ participation in the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space.
       In view of the considerable interest expressed by the meeting participants to business cooperation with Belarus, an agreement was reached with a representative of the Chamber of Commerce of Bonn/Rhein-Sieg, who was present at the forum, to hold a similar event for the businessmen of the region.
