UNSG asks Belarus to keep up fight against slave trade

         Nowadays Belarus is at the forefront of the international community in the fight against slave trade and should not lose pace in the process. The request was made by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Yuri Ambrazevich, Head of the Central Office for Multilateral Diplomacy of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry said.
According to Yuri Ambrazevich, in the near future Belarus intends to draw the UN focus to assistance to the prosperity of future generations and support for talented youth.
        “We have already used the UN tribune to call for more support for talented young people. We hope to start a profound discussion about such problems as the preservation and encouragement of the development of the national intellectual potential in the youth community, the influence of modern information technologies and crisis phenomena in the economy on the youth audience,” said the official.
Besides, Belarus intends to use its participation in the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) to step up the collective efforts in the global fight against organized crime, to improve the international criminal justice system, to advance interstate cooperation in the UN in the area of crime prevention.
