Turnout in early voting reaches 12.5%, the Central Election Commission reports

      An estimated 12.5% have cast early votes so far ahead of the 23 September parliamentary elections in Belarus, Secretary of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Nikolai Lozovik told media.
      A total of 14.7% have taken advantage of early voting in Vitebsk Oblast, 14.1% - in Mogilev Oblast, 12.8% - in Gomel Oblast, 11.7% - in Grodno Oblast, 11.4% - in Brest Oblast, 10.9% - in Minsk Oblast.
     The turnout in Minsk made up 11.8%, Nikolai Lozovik informed.
The CEC Secretary noted that early voting is running smooth, in full compliance with the election legislation. “No violations have been reported,” he stressed.
     Early voting is opened for 5 days ahead of the polling day scheduled for 23 September. Polling stations will  stay open from 10h00 to 14h00 and 16h00 to 19h00 till 22 September inclusive.
