Belarus’ CEC receives no complaints about violations during early voting

The Central Election Commission of Belarus (CEC) has not received any complaints regarding violations during early voting at the Belarusian parliamentary elections, Secretary of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Nikolai Lozovik told media commenting on media allegations about violations reported by observers at polling stations during the early voting period.
The CEC has received no complaints from observers or individuals, Nikolai Lozovik said. “The agenda of these observers is to report as many violations as possible. When they do not have enough evidence, they make it up,” the CEC Secretary said.
He pointed out that observers go to media outlets to report violations. “They are trying to show how many violations are taking place to make it a point of reference for international observation missions,” Nikolai Lozovik believes.
According to the recent updates, since the start of the parliamentary election campaign, election commissions and local authorities have received over 500 petitions regarding the preparation and conduct of the elections.
