Belarusian PM presents awards for professional distinction

Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko presented state awards to people from various professional backgrounds in a ceremony at the Palace of the Republic in Minsk on 19 December, BelTA has learned.

"Belarus is a unique country with a rich history and cultural heritage. Each of us is a part of a greater whole. The first thing that comes to mind when you think of Belarusians is diligence of our people. This is not just a stereotype but probably one of the basic traits of our national character. We can say that hard work is part of the Belarusian DNA," Roman Golovchenko said.

The prime minister pointed out that diligence is passed down through generations as a lasting value. "Dedicated work is very much appreciated for ages. It remains the basis of our identity. The Belarusian people have always understood that it is possible to build their own present and future only by their own work and, certainly, have striven to do their utmost," he said.
