Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko made a decision to appoint Economy Minister Dmitry Krutoi as First Deputy Prime Minister. Aleksandr Turchin, who is currently holding this position, has been appointed Minsk Oblast Governor, BelTA informs.

I am going to discuss changes in the government with you. I have not concealed that. Of course, the main stage will begin after New Year when the government will report on their performance. Just like in the past, before the presidential election I always formed the government and the entire power vertical to show people with whom the current president will work if re-elected,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

According to the president, Aleksandr Turchin should begin working independently. Head of the Belarus President Administration Natalya Kochanova supported this approach. “In fact, Turchin leaves the economic post in the government, so I think that the economy minister can occupy this post,” the head of state believes. “Besides, we will discuss a candidate of the post of the economy minister.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko explained that new appointments in the Minsk Regional administration are not attributed to personnel issues. Current governor Anatoly Isachenko leaves his post due to health reasons. He worked well as governor and will continue to monitor the state of affairs in this region
