Azarenka, Sabalenka to meet in US Open first round

The opening ceremony for the 2019 IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships took place at the Raubichi Olympic Center on 23 August.

Belarus’ Deputy Sport and Tourism Minister Aleksandr Baraulya said that the organizers of the competitions had made every effort to organize the tournament at a high level. He expressed gratitude to the International Biathlon Union for providing the country with the opportunity to host the IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships and expressed hope that Belarus will be hosting big international competitions in the future.

Attending the opening ceremony was First Vice President of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) Jiri Hamza.

Competing in the 2019 IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships at the Raubichi Olympic Center on 23-25 August will be about 250 athletes from 26 countries.
