Minsk hosts consultations between Belarusian, Norwegian ministries of foreign affairs

Regular consultations between representatives of the Belarusian and Norwegian ministries of foreign affairs at the level of deputy ministers took place in Minsk. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei met with State Secretary of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Audun Halvorsen, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service said.

The consultations continued the dialogue Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei and his Norwegian counterpart Ine Eriksen Soreide began on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Milan on 6-7 December 2018. A broad spectrum of topics concerning Belarus-Norway relations were discussed as well as interaction in international organizations, primarily the United Nations Organization. Regional agenda and prospects of cooperation in bolstering nuclear security were discussed. The sides noted with satisfaction positive trends in Belarus-Norway trade and mentioned its mutually beneficial and balanced nature.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the fact that the dialogue between Minsk and Oslo is becoming a regular event.
