Belarus, Uzbekistan to expand cooperation in education

Belarus and Uzbekistan will expand cooperation in the education sector, Belarus’ Education Minister Igor Karpenko said as he met with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education Inom Madjidov, we learned from the press service of the Education Ministry.

The meeting of ministers took place in the BNTU Polytechnic Technology Park. “We look forward to strengthening our ties in education and are ready to share experience, innovations and achievements. We plan to expand cooperation not only in higher education but also in vocational education, and we hope that our experience will be useful to counterparts from Uzbekistan,” Igor Karpenko said, welcoming the Uzbek delegation.

The minister updated the Uzbek delegation on the plans to improve the student exchange process, conduct internships, and improve the qualifications of teachers from Belarus and Uzbekistan. The universities of the two countries have 41 cooperation agreements, which lay the foundation to do research and share experience. More than 200 students from Uzbekistan receive education in Belarusian universities.
