It is necessary to make the transition from credit cooperation to investment one in Belarus-China relations. Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrei Dapkiunas made the statement during the recently held third session of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental cooperation commission in Beijing, the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported. While in Shanghai Andrei Dapkiunas also took part in the opening ceremony of Belarus’ national exhibition pavilion. An action plan to hold a Belarus-China Education Year in 2019 was signed in Beijing the day before. Andrei Dapkiunas visited the East China Normal University where a Belarusian studies center was opened in 2012. The diplomat met with top executives of the university and an international relations institute. Andrei Dapkiunas mentioned the important role of Belarusian studies centers in bringing the Belarusian nation closer to the Chinese one and in enhancing the interstate foundation for mutual support. Andrei Dapkiunas also took part in the Hongqiao International Economic and Trade Forum. He visited an intellectual property protection center in Pudong District, a high-tech park in Zhanjiang, and several companies in the Shanghai free economic zone.
