Belarus calls on SCO member states to unite efforts against terrorism, crime

Belarus is ready to interact with the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the field of security, Belarus’ Prime Minister Andrei Kobyakov said at the 15th meeting of the SCO Heads of Government Council in Bishkek, BelTA reports. According to Andrei Kobyakov, the previous year showed that the cooperation between security services and law-enforcement agencies was as relevant as ever. “Belarus is ready to develop cooperation against international terrorism and cybercrime, illegal trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances across the borders of the SCO member states. All these negative phenomena are cross-border problems. Only by joint efforts can we fight them efficiently,” the Prime Minister said. “I believe that the participation of the State Secretaries of the Security Councils of the observer countries in the SCO annual meetings would contribute to the joint discussion of the aforementioned issues,” Andrei Kobyakov said.
