Belarus marks the National Libraries Day.

         This holiday appeared in the country in 2001. 15 September is the date of the founding of the National Library. The initiator of the professional holiday is the Belarusian Library Association. The day traditionally features numerous events including meetings of librarians, exhibitions, round tables, conferences. The National Library of Belarus will receive rare books of 17-18 centuries. Currently there are more than 9000 libraries in Belarus with the collection of more than 200 million copies.
