Gomel Oblast to twin with one of Indian states


      Gomel Oblast is expected to twin with one of the Indian states, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Belarus Pankaj Saxena told BelTA during his recent three-day visit to Gomel. Establishing twinning relations between the administrative territories of the two countries was discussed at a meeting with Gomel Oblast Governor Vladimir Dvornik. “The Indian states of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh are eager to establish twinning ties,” Pankaj Saxena said.
       The sides agreed to study each other’s import items in order to better understand which products to bring to the market. India shows interest in Belarusian agricultural equipment and products of its woodworking enterprises. Today Gomselmash together with DVR Infratech is looking into the possibility of setting up a plant to assemble harvesters in India. Belorusneft plans to take part in Indian oilfield exploration projects.
