After the game the Dinamo stadium will be closed for renovations, after which the arena will be able to host major international sports events. The victory or draw against LOSC Lille will secure FC BATE a place in the Europa League last 32 round.
BATE’s head coach Viktor Goncharenko told the media:
“The team’s morale is high and his lads are ready to put up a great performance in front of the home crowd. We have some squad problems, Alexander Pavlov and Dmitry Mozolevsky being sidelined due to injuries. However, other players are in good shape”.
Speaking of their Champions League opponents, Viktor Goncharenko said:
“LOSC Lille play in one of Europe’s best championships and are of extremely high class. I’d like to warn my players against complacency despite the 3:1 away victory against the French team in Paris, France, on 19 September. Lille will be trying to get three points in Minsk in retaliation for the home defeat on matchday. So BATE should stay concentrated for the whole 90 minutes”.
BATE are preparing for the forthcoming match at their training base in Dudinka, Minsk Oblast. The Lille squad had the last training session at their own base in France and decided against a training session on the turf of the Dinamo stadium.
Two best-placed teams from each of eight groups advance to the Champions League play-off round. The third-placed clubs will progress to the last 32 of the Europa League, the second most important club football tournament in Europe.
