Belarus: Business dimension in the Eastern Partnership should be strengthened

The business dimension in the Eastern Partnership should be strengthened, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna said as she met with Mr. Igor Jukic, Political Director of hte Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, in Ljubljana, BelTA reports.

The parties discussed the further development of the Eastern Partnership Initiative, and the results of the Riga Summit. The issues related to the situation in the region in the context of the Ukrainian crisis were also touched upon. Alena Kupchyna believes that the revision of the European neighborhood policy, in which the Eastern Partnership is also engaged, is a very important topic. In her opinion, account must be taken of the interests and priorities of all the member countries of that initiative. Alena Kupchyna drew particular attention to the importance of the business dimension in the Eastern Partnership.

She also stressed that Belarus is committed to the fulfillment of its obligations with regards to the neighboring countries and to the activities within the Eastern Partnership framework. Belarus is counting on the same attitude on the part of its European partners.
