CSTO works out anti-terrorism measures

The Committee of the Security Council Secretaries of the CSTO member states worked out the measures to prevent the recruitment and engagement of citizens of the CSTO member states in armed conflicts, and to prevent their departure to join terrorist organizations, BelTA quotes CSTO spokesman Vladimir Zaynetdinov. The session in Tajikistan discussed the topical issues of international and collective security in the CSTO collective security zone, measures to counteract threats and challenges to collective security in the region, the situation in Afghanistan and its impact on the situation in the CSTO responsibility zone. According to CSTO Secretary General Nikolai Bordyuzha, the presence of Taliban groups in Afghanistan as well as the armed groups not controlled by Kabul still remains a threat in the southern direction of the CSTO responsibility zone. The difficult situation in Afghanistan was one of the reasons for the sudden check of the CSTO collective rapid deployment forces (CRDF), Nikolai Bordyuzha said. According to him, the CSTO CRDF snap inspection showed that the Collective Rapid Deployment Forces are ready for the accomplishment of their missions.
