Minister: Minsk to become the world's book center

Minsk should become the world book center during the 22nd Minsk International Book Fair. The opinion was voiced by Belarusian Information Minister, head of the organizing committee of the fair Lilia Ananich at the session of the organizing committee.

The fair will take place in Minsk on 11-15 February, Book publishers and distributors from 25 countries are expected to take part in it. China will be a guest of honor while Russia will be the central exhibitor. The largest booths will be arranged by Germany, France, the UK, and Iran. The Belarusian booth should feature topical diversity that has to showcase modern publications and rarities, said the Information Minister. Lilia Ananich pointed out that the Belarusian booth should be accomplished in a creative manner.

Every day of the fair will be filled with interesting events. For the first time Minsk will host an international symposium of writers The Writer and the Time. Beginners and renowned writers will be able to discuss matters that worry representatives of different generations. Invitations have been sent out to writers in various countries, with many participation confirmations received.
