Belarusian students have clinched five medals at the 55th International Mathematical Olympiad that was held in Cape Town, South Africa, the press service of the Belarusian Education Ministry reports. Dmitry Bobrov won the gold medal, Roman Marchenko won the silver medal and Valentin Vityaz received the bronze. Bronze medals were also given to Svyatoslav Borodachev and Dmitry Voinov. Alexei Gaponenko got an honorable mention.
The Belarusian team was coached by Associate Professor of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Belarusian State University Igor Voronovich.
Taking part in the competition were 560 school students from 101 countries worldwide.
