Protection of people described as priority for Belarus’ KGB, Internal Affairs Ministry

 

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has made a number of personnel replacements in the structure of the State Security Committee and the Internal Affairs Ministry, BelTA has learned. The head of state talked to top officials of the State Secretariat of the Security Council, the Internal Affairs Ministry, and the KGB, and the newly appointed officials to find out the state of affairs in the spheres they oversee, the degree of competence, and previous experience.The State Security Committee will step up efforts to prevent destructive outside influence on Belarus, Sergei Terebov, who was appointed first deputy chairman of the KGB, told reporters after the meeting with Belarus President. Speaking with senior officials of the State Security committee, the president also mentioned anti-corruption efforts. Besides, Aleksandr Lukashenko spoke about the personnel policy in the State Security Committee. The president stressed that continuity is important, the level of personnel training should be constantly improving.
