Orthodox believers are celebrating one of the 12 great feasts which is the Transfiguration of the Lord or Savior of the Apple Feast Day. On this day, we remember the transfiguration of Jesus on Tabor Mount, when he appeared to his disciples in the form of a cloud. By doing this he pointed out that after the earth's physical life there should be celestial and spiritual life. Today all churches are holding divine liturgies, people bring the apples to consecrate in churches as a symbol of the transformation of the earthly world. From that day on storks begin flying away. If the birds flew away a week before that day, early and cold winter was expected, if later, people should expect a warm autumn and late winter.
