The Central Election Commission of Belarus has received registration applications from 142 international observers, BelTA quotes Chairwoman of the Central Election Commission of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina. Not all the international observers have arrived in Belarus but only those, who have submitted registration applications. The figure changes every day since registration forms and reports about more international observers willing to monitor the election are submitted to Belarus’ CEC every day. At present 70 observers represent the OSCE mission while 72 observers represent the CIS mission, said the source.
According to Lidia Yermoshina, more than 1,000 domestic observers have been accredited with territorial and precinct election commissions as well as the CEC. They represent the entire spectrum of public opinions, the political parties and movements that exist in Belarus.
