Yuri Ivanov is a laureat of the "World Press Photo" award in Hague, a winner of many national and international competitions, a laureate of the Belarusian Union of Journalists’ prize and the holder of the "Golden Letter" award. In 1987, he participated in the American project "One Day in the Life of the Soviet Union" and was among the top 100 photographers of the world. Snapshot "Emergency meeting", created as part of this project, was named best picture of the world in ten years.
The exhibition in Gomel will feature some of Ivanov’s works made during different periods of his career. Many people and events have been captured by Yuri Ivanov’s camera. But whoever he shot – be it Gorbachev, Mulyavin or granny Solokha from a Polessye village - each of his work is a photo-history.
