The famous painting by Marc Chagall Over the Town will be exhibited at the Vitebsk Art Museum during the days of the 35th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk, the Belarusian Culture Ministry told BelTA.
The canvas will arrive in the festival capital from the Tretyakov Gallery. A separate hall has been prepared in the Art Museum for displaying the painting. Opposite it, a work by Yuri Pen, Chagall’s teacher, will be exhibited. “The exhibition will also be complemented by the maestro’s self-portrait and a portrait of his talented pupil, which were also painted by Pen. These paintings will be provided from the collections of the National Art Museum,” the Vitebsk Oblast Museum of Local Lore said.
This creative “duet” will be available to see on 16 July, the opening day of the 35th International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar. Chagall’s painting will remain in the regional center for two months.
