Belarusian Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Oleg Dikun met with Egypt’s Ambassador to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Hamdi Shaaban, BelTA learned from the press service of Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART).
The discussion focused on agriculture and production cooperation between the two countries. The ambassador highlighted Egypt’s interest in setting up joint production facilities in Egypt with the use of Belarusian expertise and technology. He also noted that both sides need to make better use of the potential they already have.
Oleg Dikun held several other meetings with representatives of other countries and regions. A video conference discussed supplies of Belarusian products to retail chains in Russia’s Kamchatka Territory in furtherance of the agreements reached during a visit of a Belarusian delegation led by Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Artur Karpovich to Petropavlovsk Kamchatsky in September 2025. The parties agreed to hold the fourth meeting of the working group on cooperation on the sidelines of the INNOPROM. Belarus exhibition in Minsk.
During a meeting with Ghana’s Ambassador to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Koma Steem Jehu-Appiah, Oleg Dikun stressed Ghana’s high importance for Belarus in terms of its cooperation with Africa. Discussions covered supplies of fruit and cocoa beans from Ghana and agricultural machinery and fertilizers from Belarus. Head of BUCE’s Foreign Economic Activity Department Yaroslav Kovalchuk outlined how the exchange mechanism can facilitate trade between Belarus and African countries.
During the talks with Algeria’s Ambassador to Russia and concurrently to Belarus Toufik Djouama the parties discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the Belarusian president’s visit to Algeria in December 2025. Special attention was paid to joint economic projects, ways of increasing bilateral trade, strengthening B2B ties and cooperation in healthcare and education.
