Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Zhang Wenchuan on 27 February, representatives of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA.
Maxim Ryzhenkov and Zhang Wenchuan exchanged opinions about topical items on the bilateral agenda and the international one. They also discussed the schedule of the contacts the leaders of the two countries are expected to have in 2026.
The Belarusian minister of foreign affairs and the Chinese ambassador paid close attention to matters of interaction within the framework of international organizations for the sake of implementing initiatives aimed at reinforcing stability, restoring peace and security, and enabling the necessary conditions for cooperation according to the spirit and the letter of the UN Charter.
Maxim Ryzhenkov once again confirmed Belarus’ dedication to the “one China” principle, to supporting efforts of the Chinese government in matters of protecting the national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The parties confirmed they are ready to rigorously fulfill all the agreements of the leaders of Belarus and China on enhancing the political interaction, expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation, and promoting industrial and technological cooperation.
