At the International Civil Aviation Organization Assembly, Belarus expressed serious concern over the unilateral restrictive measures of a discriminatory nature being applied against a number of states, which run counter to the fundamental principles and norms of international air law, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry.

A delegation from the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry, led by Deputy Minister Sergei Dubina, is participating in the 42nd ICAO Assembly in Montreal, Canada.

In his address, Sergei Dubina stated that the discriminatory ban on the use of airspace for civilian aircraft flights, and the refusal to provide information necessary for maintaining airworthiness, air navigation, and ground handling, negatively impact both flight safety and the development of global civil aviation.

Belarus called on ICAO member states to take all possible actions to prevent countries from using politicized, discriminatory restrictive measures in the international civil aviation.
