Mir Castle to present book on local historic estates

       Mir Castle is expected to present a book on local country estates next week, the directorate of the museum told media. On the order and with the financial support of the Mir Castle Museum Belarus publishing house has published a new work of prominent Belarusian scientist Anatoly Fedoruk “Ancient Country Estates of Belarus. Korelichi District”. The presentation of the book will take place at the Korelichi cultural center on 4 April.
        The book has been released in 2,000 copies. According to Director of the Museum Olga Popko, the monograph is a kind of a guidebook on the records of the past covering the history of 57 historic estates. A special focus of the book is made on the history and parks of Mir Castle.  
The book contains numerous photographies of architecture, parks, water systems and households, culture, farm management and lifestyle of the owners of the local estates. The book also explores their contemporary state and emphasizes the importance of their preservation.
