Vitebsk to host Candlemas Readings

    Traditional values of the modern world will be discussed by the participants of the Candlemas Readings in Vitebsk.
       Cooperation between the Church, the society and the state in promoting moral values and education of the youth will highlight the Vitebsk meeting. Special attention will be given to the spiritual and moral education of the rising generation taking into account historical experience of the Church. Invited to partake in the Candlemas Readings have been pedagogues, priests, power officials supervising the education and cultural sectors and those cooperating with religious organizations, heads of educational establishments and scientists. There are plans to publish an electronic edition of the reports that are to be read at the meeting.
      Candlemas Readings are held as part of the action plan of the agreement on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
