Lukashenko in Ashgabat for CIS summit

       Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko takes part in a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State in Ashgabat.
       According to the CIS Executive Committee, the agenda includes about 20 draft documents aimed at strengthening regional cooperation in the economic and humanitarian areas, security, and other areas.
Following the talks in Ashgabat the CIS member states are set to sign a number of documents on cooperation to set up an integrated foreign exchange market, to strengthen cooperation in financial security, and anti-terrorism efforts.
      The agenda of the meeting also includes staff matters related to the approval of the candidatures of the chairman of the CIS Economic Court, the head of the CIS anti-terrorist center and the appointment of the chairman of the coordinating committee for defense of the CIS Council of Defense Ministers.
