Belarusian, Russian MPs united in views on Belarus-Russia trade dispute

Russian parliamentarians feel solidarity with their Belarusian counterparts as far as the Belarus-Russia trade dispute is concerned, BelTA quotes Alexander Segodnik, a member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus. The trade dispute was also discussed during the recent session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia. Apart from discussions on the sidelines of the session the trade dispute was put on the agenda. Once again Belarusian MPs presented their point of view. “We don’t accept the stance of the Russian side. If there are issues at the level of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, then nothing is being done to address them,” stressed the MP. Alexander Segodnik said he believes that an expert commission was needed to consider such situations in a timely manner and suggest the relevant measures. “Members of the Russian parliament backed us up on this matter because [Belarusian] products are in demand in Russia. If we are a union state, then we have to act in a way to rule out difficulties. All the issues should be addressed in a civilized manner,” summed up Alexander Segodnik.
