MP: Belarusian resolutions always upheld by OSCE PA

Resolutions put forward by Belarus are always upheld by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Valentina Leonenko, a member of the Permanent Commission for International Affairs of the House of Representatives, told BelTA. Valentina Leonenko will take part in the 23rd Annual Session of the OSCE PA in Baku as part of the Belarusian delegation. Valentina Leonenko noted that the Belarusian delegation has been putting forward its resolutions for the third year consecutive. In 2012-2013 most of Belarus’ resolutions dealt with the promotion of alternative energy and energy-saving technologies and the “green” economy. This year Belarus’ resolution seeks to protect and promote social and economic rights in the OSCE region. “Our resolutions have always been supported. There has not been a single incident when Belarusian resolutions were rejected or were unwelcome,” she said.

The MP noted that Belarus’ documents are usually approved by the overwhelming majority of other countries.
