Belarusian Deputy Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Dorofeichik met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mozambique to Russia and Belarus concurrently Jose Mateus Muaria Katupha. The expansion of bilateral cooperation in agribusiness was the main topic of the negotiations, the press service of the Belarusian Agriculture and Food Ministry told BelTA.
The structure of trade between the two countries has changed. In 2025 fruit imports formed the backbone of the trade turnover. In January-July 2026 they grew by nearly 16 times. Belarus brought new items to the Mozambican market: poultry meat, canned goods, wheat flour, and skimmed milk powder.
“Africa values Belarus as a reliable partner,” the ambassador noted.
The potential for increasing export remains. Belarus is ready to increase shipments of milk powder. Also, taking into account Mozambique’s well-developed animal husbandry sector, the Belarusian side proposed a package of veterinary support: preparations and vaccines for poultry, cattle, and small ruminants.
“Apart from that, the Belarusian side expressed readiness to train Mozambican specialists in the entire range of agricultural professions, thus creating a personnel foundation for future joint projects,” the press service added.
